Sunday was full of news for the Georgia football program, especially considering they didn't play this weekend. One of the highlights was UGA surging up the AP Poll along with the opening spread for their upcoming matchup against Florida being released.

The biggest news of the day though came on the recruiting trail. Georgia already has their quarterback commit in the 2027 recruiting class, but they still went out and earned a commitment from another QB who just so happens to be the son of country music star Luke Bryan.

Georga lands their second QB commit in the 2027 class

On Sunday Georgia earned a commitment from three-star quarterback Bo Bryan. He is a member of the 2027 recruiting class which means Georgia just earned a commitment from their second quarterback of this cycle.

It's a bit strange that Kirby Smart even wanted a second quarterback commit in the first place. Most years Georgia only adds one QB and that is a shared consensus across the college football landscape as well, but this year UGA is adding two quarterbacks.

Byran is nowhere near the level of player that fellow quarterback commit Colton Nussmeier is, so that makes this commitment even stranger. He however still wants to come to Georgia, so there's no reason for Georgia to say no.

Georgia jumped Notre Dame in the AP Poll without even playing

Georgia was No. 5 in the AP Poll last week during their bye week. No. 2 BYU lost this week, so Georgia expected to move up one spot in this week's AP Poll. Instead they moved up two spots to No. 3 because the AP Poll moved them past Notre Dame.

It's weird that Georgia jumped a team who didn't lose when they didn't even play this week, but it's even stranger because Notre Dame had their bye week this past weekend too.

Georgia however probably shouldn't have ever been ranked behind Notre Dame in the first place. The Irish haven't beaten a team with a pulse yet this season while Georgia has their win at Alabama, so the AP Poll thankfully corrected an obvious mistake in their rankings they made a week ago.

Georgia vs Florida odds are hard to get a read on

Georgia is past their bye week and now it's time for them to take on Florida. The Gators are the No. 17 team in the country with a 5-2 record this season, but Georgia is still favored by 10.5 points heading into this game.

Florida however is a tough team to get a good read on. Their two losses were embarrassing as they were blown out by Missouri and South Carolina, but they also have two impressive wins against Ole Miss and Texas. It's impossible to know which Florida team will show up this weekend, so that makes this spread hard to predict.

This is still a game Georgia should win though, but it by no means will be easy.
