Georgia has had a lot of great days recently as their basbeall team has been dominant and their basketball team just made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade. But March 27 was not the best day for the Bulldogs as many of their programs across campus saw some unfortunate news hit their program.

Silas Demary Jr. enters transfer portal

Georgia basketball is fresh off their best season in the last decade. One of the reasons for that was because of the great season from freshman Silas Demary Jr.

He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team this year after averaging 13.5 points per game and shooting nearly 38 percent from three. Demary Jr. was set to once again be a big piece on Georgia's team next season as they look to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row, but that will no longer be the case after he announced on Thursday that he is entering the transfer portal.

Replacing Demary will be extremely difficult, and combining his loss with Asa Newell's likely entrance into the NBA Draft makes things even more challenging. Mike White now has his work cut out for him if they are going to have another successful season, and that likely will entail adding some experienced pieces from the portal themselves.

Georgia losing ground with coveted 5-star

Georgia football is after a lot of the top players across the country, which includes many five-stars. Five-star QB Jared Curtis is one name everyone is watching closely as his commitment date inches closer, and the Bulldogs have good reason to feel confident about earning his commitment. But that is not the case with every five-star Georgia is after.

Five-star EDGE Rodney Dunham is a top 15 player in the country who is announcing his commitment on April 10. He has Georgia as one of his finalists along with Tennessee, Duke and North Carolina, but it's Notre Dame who is trending in this receruitment as On3 and 247Sports name the Irish as the massive favorite.

Obviously things can change from now until he announces his commitment, but this is one recruitment that appears to be a loss for UGA.

NFL Mock Draft Update

Georgia football fans are used to dominating the NFL Draft every single year, and that will be no different this year. The Bulldogs may not surpass their NFL Draft record from 2022, but they will challenge it.

At the 2022 NFL Drraft, the Bulldogs set the record with 15 players selected, and ESPN this year is projecting UGA to have a whopping 14 players selected. This includes three players in the first round in Jalon Walker, Malaki Starks and Mykel Williams.

If ESPN is correct that these 14 Bulldogs will be drafted, then there is a slight chance others not included in this list could be picked as well and Georgia could end with 16 players selected. That is very unlikely to happen, but there is definitely a chance that it occurs.
