Everything that could go right has gone right for Georgia during the first half of their matchup against Texas. The Bulldogs defense held the Longhorns to just three points during the first half while Georgia's offense got off to a quick start with a touchdown on their first two drives of the game.
Georgia enters the halftime locker room leading Texas 14-3 and they also get the ball to start the second half. Another touchdown at the start of the second half could be enough to put this game away, but the Bulldogs can learn from an SEC rival that no lead is safe no matter how good things are going.
Georgia can learn from South Carolina about what not to do
Georgia desperately needs Texas A&M to lose a game by the end of the year if they are going to make it to the SEC Championship game. And through the first half of the Aggies matchup against South Carolina on Saturday it looked like they were going to get that help.
South Carolina led the Aggies 30-3 at halftime, but the second half was all Texas A&M as they stormed back to win 31-30.
While this was very disappointing for Georgia to see, they can learn from the Gamecocks about what not to do. Whether Georgia scores on their first drive of the second half or not, the Bulldogs need to keep their foot on the gas. Georgia's offense can't just try to burn clock just yet, they need to continue to push for another score to really put the game out of reach. And even though Georgia's defense has been great so far, they can't lose focus either.
So look for Georgia to make some key adjustments in the locker room during halftime as they try to bury Texas and give them no hope at making a second half comeback.
