Georgia’s worst nightmare could come true on Monday night. Not only would another team win a National Championship before them, but their former quarterback in Carson Beck could be the QB hoisting the trophy.
This is the last thing anyone in Athens wants to see, but if Beck does win it all then Georgia can only blame themselves.
Georgia did more for Carson Beck than Miami ever did
There really wasn’t anything Georgia could’ve done to prevent Beck from transferring. He originally declared for the NFL Draft and seemingly was offered by Miami before he even withdrew his name to enter the Transfer Portal. So Georgia shouldn’t blame themselves over the fact that he went to Miami in the first place.
Georgia however did give him all of the tools he needed to win a title with the Hurricanes.
Beck was at Georgia for five years before making the move to Miami. During that time he saw the Bulldogs win two National Championships under Stetson Bennett. These titles taught Beck what it takes to win a championship, and he surely took that knowledge with him to Miami.
On top of that, Georgia developed Beck into the quarterback that he is today. Miami really didn’t do anything to teach Beck how to play quarterback at the college level, all of that learning occurred in Athens before he ever transferred. So the reason Beck is talented enough in the first place to make it to the National Championship game is because of the time and effort Georgia put into developing him.
Georgia however wouldn’t give up the five years Beck was in Athens for anything. So while no one would want to go back in time and chsnge history, the reality is that Beck is playing for a championship with Miami thanks to everything he learned while at Georgia.
