Kelsey Adams is a four-star offensive tackle that Georgia can’t afford to lose. He is a top 10 player in the state of Georgia who committed to UGA last September, but his recruitment is not going great right now.

Last weekend Adams took an official visit to LSU. That means he got to spend some quality time with Lane Kiffin, and that may be the last thing anyone at Georgia wanted to see knowing how good of a recruiter he is.

Unfortunately Kiffin was able to successfully cast his spell on Adams as he has been officially predicted to flip his commitment to LSU.

Bitter rival is also making moves with Georgia commit Kelsey Adams

Kiffin is one of those coaches that will always be capable of stealing a recruit from Georgia. That was the case the last few years at Ole Miss once he finally turned their program around, but at a school like LSU he has a chance to get anyone he wants.

Unfortunately for Georgia he chose to lock in on Adams, and it may just be a matter of time until he officially flips.

Adams however has one more school he wants to check out as he has plans to visit Auburn as well.

This news is bit more shocking than seeing Kiffin and LSU swoop in. Auburn doesn’t have an established head coach and are nowhere near the program that Georgia is, so seeing them get involved is a slap in the face.

If Adams chooses to flip Georgia fans will probably want him to choose LSU. As much as it will hurt to see Kiffin take a recruit from Georgia it wouldn’t even compare to the pain everyone would feel if Auburn stole an elite commit like Adams from them.

Regardless of what happens, something needs to change with Georgia’s recruiting.

Kirby Smart may have lost his touch with in-state recruits

What is going on with Georgia’s in-state recruiting right now? Has Kirby Smart forgotten how to recruit within the Peach State.

Georgia currently has seven players from the state of Georgia committed to their 2027 recruiting class. Adams however is the only four or five-star recruit that is committed though. All signs are pointing to him eventually flipping as well, so for all intents and purposes Georgia doesn’t really have a four or five-star commit from a Peach State recruit.

That is unacceptable.

Looking at the top 25 players from Georgia in the 2027 class, Adams is Georgia’s only commit. They are the leader for Joshua Sam-Epelle who is the No. 8 player in the state, but those are the only two recruits even associated with Georgia right now.

To make matters even worse, 21 of the 25 players are already committed to another school. So if Georgia is going to win their recruitments Smart is going to have to flip them which is no easy task.

Last year in the 2026 recruiting class Georgia signed seven of the top 25 players in the state. That is a total fans should expect to see every year, but for some reason Smart hasn’t come even close to that this year.

Recruiting the state of Georgia well is extremely important for UGA. Georgia is always one of the states with the most talent in the country, so their proximity to these recruits should give Georgia en edge. But for some reason that isn’t happening with the 2027 recruiting class.

Maybe Smart will find a way to flip some of these recruits committed elsewhere, or maybe he will be able to keep Adams in their class. But right now things aren’t looking great for Georgia’s recruiting class, and it might be time to think about pressing the panic button.
