Georgia football signed a 2026 recruiting class without a quarterback in it back in December. That is not very common in college football nowadays, but there wasn't much they could do after Jared Curtis flipped to Vanderbilt at the last second.
But what if someone told you that Kirby Smart still found a way to add a quarterback to Georgia's recruiting class? What if he pulled that off over halfway through the month of January? And what if that quarterback was one of the best QBs in the 2026 recruiting class?
Some of you may think that's crazy, but Georgia did just that on Friday night.

4-star QB picks Georgia, fills biggest hold in Bulldogs' recruiting class
Bryson Beaver is a four-star quarterback who had been committed to Oregon for quite some time. Not only was he committed, but he signed with the Ducks in December and enrolled at the beginning of January. But he has already decided to enter the Transfer Portal, and after being predicted to commit to Georgia he announced his commitment to the program on Friday.
No one expects any school to add as good of a quarterback as Beaver this late in the recruiting cycle. But it took a wild situation that included former Georgia commit Dylan Raiola transferring to Oregon and star QB Dante Moore announcing his return to Eugene for one more year. This showed Beaver how little Oregon actually cared about him, so he knew it was already time to move on.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Beaver is the No. 12 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. He also is the No. 174 overall player in the country as well.
Beaver took a visit to Athens on Friday, and that visit is what led to Georgia winning his recruitment. But the best part about this commitment is that it fills the biggest hole in Georgia's 2026 recruiting class.
