Georgia football's 2026 recruiting class is all but wrapped up now that the Early Signing period has passed. However, there are a few recruits out there who Georgia is still targeting and hoping to land over the next month.
Earning commitments this late in the recruiting cycle is a difficult task, but Georgia has an advantage over the rest of the field. And ironically that advantage came when five-star Jared Curtis flipped his commitment from Georgia to Vanderbilt last week.
Georgia could be in the running for a new 5-star thanks to Jared Curtis
Curtis was expected to make about $900,000 at Georgia during his first season in Athens. That number was also expected to increase throughout his career as well. But now that Curtis is no longer coming to Georgia the Bulldogs don't have to reserve that money for him, so that means they can spend it on other recruits.
Kirby Smart has made it known that he will not overspend for any one recruit. But sometimes recruits are too good to pass up on, and with this extra money in his pocket it might not be a bad idea to use it on a really good player. And who better than the No. 1 running back in the country.
Savion Hiter is the top ranked running back in the 2026 recruiting class who is signed to play with Michigan. While that typically means his recruitment is over, Michigan's unexpected firing of head coach Sherrone Moore this week could change that. Two Wolverine signees have already been released from their letters of intent, and Hiter could follow suit at some point.
Georgia was one of his finalists ealier this year when he committed to Michigan, so UGA already has a good relationship with him. And with this extra money in their pocket they can now offer him Georgia could be his new favorite if he does leave Michigan.
