The next edition of the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry is almost here as Georgia and Auburn will face off for the 130th time Saturday night. The Bulldogs have a slight lead in this series all time as they hold a 65-56-8 record against the Tigers.
Not only does Georgia hold the edge all time over Auburn, they have been very dominant against the Tigers over the last decade. Georgia is currently riding an eight game win streak in this matchup which is already significant, but one more win would rewrite the history books of this rivalry.
Georgia will tie impressive record with win vs Auburn
Both Georgia and Auburn have had stretches of dominance in this rivalry over the years, but it's UGA who has had the longest streak of wins. The Bulldogs current hold the longest win streak in this rivalry at nine wins which they accomplished from 1923 to 1931.
While it is nice for Georgia to hold this record, these wins took place about 100 years ago. That really hurts the significance of this record, but Georgia can change that on Saturday.
A win on Saturday would make it nine straight victories over Auburn. This would tie the record set by Georgia nearly 100 years ago, but it would definitely hold a lot more significance this time around.
Will Georgia be able to get it done on Saturday and tie this record? Or will Auburn be able to swing this rivalry back in their favor? Georgia is predicted to win by 3.5 points, but all that tells college football fans is both teams are capable of winning this game.
Georgia and Auburn are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 pm EST on Saturday, Oct. 11. If UGA wins, they will have a chance to set the all time record next season at home when they faces Auburn in Athens during the 2026 season.
