The 2026 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and with the combine numbers that former Georgia standout cornerback Daylen Everette is putting up, he's going to be changing his name to "somebody's gonna be payin' Daylen".

The six-foot-one, 195-pounder from Norfolk, Virginia, is letting his athleticism do all the talking with scouts looking on in Indianapolis as the defensive backs took center stage at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.

Daylen Everette is putting on a show at the scouting combine

Georgia football fans have seen what Everette is capable of in his four years between the hedges as he routinely came up with huge interceptions and scoop-and-scores in big games.

Now he's focused on making his way up NFL Draft boards in search of a big contract and a good team fit.

He used the combine to turn the heads of all the scouts in the building by running a blazing 4.38 40-yard dash with a 1.54 10-second split. That was good for second among all corners behind only Toriano Pride Jr. (Missouri), who ran a blinding 4.32.

Everette also impressed, reaching a height of 37½ inches in the vertical and 10-foot-4 in the broad jump.

Originally projected as a day two, mid-round pick, Everette's terrific performance has likely moved him closer to the second or third round.

Everette specializes in zone schemes but is also excellent in man coverage

Most of Everette's production in the way of turnovers while at Georgia came in Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning's zone schemes, but he has also shown the ability to lock down in man coverage and stick to his assignment like white on rice.

His athleticism and pure speed have his stock soaring according to Chad Reuter of NFL.com, who noted that the former Dawg "displayed his explosiveness along with hands that were solid in field drills, extending away from his frame to secure passes with and high-pointing deep throws better than most other participants. If teams put more value on Everette's pre-2025 tape than his combine workout, he might end up being picked in Round 2."

It's great to see a loyal Bulldog like "Big Play Daylen" getting his props among the best at the position and hopefully making himself a lot more money in the process.
