Georgia football defensive back Daylen Everette is arguably the best player on UGA's defense this season. In fact, he may just be the best player on Georgia's entire team overall.

Everette is entering his final season in Athens with a lot of expectations to help lead Georgia to a lot of success. These expectations are shared by NFL Draft expert Field Yates, who recently projected Everette to be a first round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft next summer.

"I went into the 2025 draft thinking cornerback was a key area of need for the Rams, but they didn't take anyone at the position across six picks," Yates shared via ESPN.com. "I still think some reinforcements there would be helpful; both expected starters on the outside (Darious Williams and Ahkello Witherspoon) are in their 30s. Everette's excellent length and instincts around the football would boost the unit. He enters his third season as a starter for Georgia with four career picks. And although Everette does not have elite short-area quickness, his 6-foot-1 size and great defensive IQ make him a high-end coverage player."

Daylen Everette projected to land in perfect scenario with LA

According to Yates, Everette will be drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Based on Yates short description of LA's defensive back room, this would be the perfect landing spot for him.

The Rams defensive back room is already pretty light entering the 2025 season, and that problem could get even worse as their two starters are both aging fast. So it would be wise for the Rams to bring in someone young that they could build their future secondary around, and Everette would be a great option for them.

Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett is also with the Rams as well, and it is seeming like a realy possibility he could be their starting QB in a few years. So Everette joining an organization with a former teammate who will potentially take over the offense makes the Rams an even better situation for him.

Who knows if the Rams will actually pick Everette in next years draft, regardless he does appear to be a lock to be a first round pick next season with a dominant showing for Georgia all season long.
