The football world has doubted Stetson Bennett every step of the way throughout his career. The moment he officially took over as the starting quarterback at Georgia everyone outside of UGA did not believe he was good enough to lead the Bulldogs to a lot of success.

Everyone knows how that played out because Bennett turned into one of the greatest quarterbacks in Georgia football history after leading the Bulldogs to two National Championships. But even as Bennett was making history with Georgia, the consensus was that he would not mkae it in the NFL.

Up to this point Bennett had not made much of a name for himself in the NFL, but that changed Saturday night after he had the best performance of his NFL career in the Los Angeles Rams 23-22 preseason win over the Chargers.

Bennett completed 28 of 40 passes for a whopping 324 yards and three touchdowns. He did throw one interception as well, but that doesn't take away from the amazing performance he had and countless electric throws he made throughout the game.

Bennett even through the game-winning touchdown with just seconds left to lift the Rams over the Chargers.

Stetson Bennett is earning himself a starting opportunity

At this point it seems very likely that Bennett will get a chance at some point to be a starting QB in the NFL. That may not come in the final two years of his contract with the Rams because fellow Bulldog Matthew Stafford also has two years left on his contract, but anything is possible once Bennett's contract expires.

There is a chance the Rams could sign Bennett again at this point and hand him the keys to their offense, or Bennett could sign with a different team who is ready to make him their starting quarterback. Regardless, it seems like a foregone conclusion at this point that he will be a starter somewhere.

Football fans most likely will continue doubting Bennett even after he is named a starter, but Georgia fans know that he will inevitably succeed and lead an NFL team to a lot of success.
