The injury bug is striking Georgia at the worst possible time. Georgia already had one potential starter ruled out for the season earlier this week, and now fan-favorite Ellis Robinson is down with a significant injury as well.

Robinson’s injury thankfully is not as significant, but it will reportedly require surgery and force him to miss G-Day this weekend.

Ellis Robinson suffers Georgia’s second major injury of the week

Robinson is one of Georgia fans favorite players. He is back for his third season at Georgia and after a successful sophomore season expectations are for him to take the next step and become the lockdown defender he is advertised to be.

Unfortunately he has suffered a major setback after reports of a high ankle sprain became public on Friday. This injury will require surgery and force Robinson to miss G-Day this weekend and part of summer workouts as well.

The good news is that Robinson is expected to be fully recovered before fall camp begins later this year.

Transfer linebacker Amaris Williams wasn’t so lucky earlier this week. He reportedly tore his ACL during practice on Tuesday and has already been ruled out for the season. Georgia may not have been able to recover if Robinson suffered a similar fate, so thankfully he will be back and ready to go before fall camp begins.

Robinson came to Georgia in 2024 as their No. 1 recruit in their class. He was the top ranked recruit in the country at his position and the No. 2 overall player in the nation, so expectations have been sky high for him ever since he stepped foot on campus. He never lived up to the hype as a true freshman, but last year he started showing signs of being a true lockdown corner.

Only time will tell if he can become that player for Georgia this year, and this injury does not do him any favors. Thankfully he will be back for the fall so that should mean he will be ready to go by the time the season begins.
