Georgia football is off to an impressive start to their 2025 season after beating Marshall 45-7. One team however that is not off to a good start is SEC rival Alabama, who traveled to Florida State and returned home with a 14 point loss.

Alabama has now hit a new low that no one thought was ever possible as the Tide are a miserable 5-5 in their last 10 games, and it doesn't look like those losses are stopping anytime soon. One would assume that Alabama's downfall could cause their commits to look elsewhere and back off their commitments, but it's Alabama that is now making moves to steal a recruit from Georgia instead.

3-star Georgia commits schedules Alabama visit

Corey Howard is a three-star defensive lineman who has been committed to Georgia since June 24. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Howard is the No. 704 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 82 defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 79 player from his home state of Georgia.

Since committing to Georgia back in June, Howard has not been a player that has shown interest in any other schools. That however is no longer the case as he reportedly has an upcoming visit scheduled to Alabama.

Losing Howard wouldn't be the worst thing in the world based on his recruiting ranking, but Georgia fans shouldn't want to lose any of their commits. Kirby Smart and his staff clearly saw something in him that they loved, because if they didn't they would have never offered him and accepted his commitment in the first place. So he is someone Georgia clearly wants in their recruiting class even if he isn't ranked that high.

It will be interesting to see how this visit to Alabama goes for Howard, but hopefully he is able to see the trajectory both programs are on because that could lead him to stay true to his commitment to Georgia.
