Georgia football’s defense has a chance to be special this season. If the Bulldogs are going to find a lot of success this year they likely will need to heavily rely on their defense in many of their games this year.

Thankfully all signs point to Georgia having one of the best defenses in the country again this season. The latest sign of this is the fact that Georgia had four defenders included on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list for the upcoming season.

Georgia leads the nation with 4 Bulldogs on Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy goes to the nation’s best defensive player in all of college football at the end of every season, so there really is no greater watch list for a defender to be included on. Daylen Everette, C.J. Allen, Christen Miller and KJ Bolden were the four Bulldogs to be included on this watch list, so expectations across the country are sky high for these Bulldogs.

Many other teams from around the country had players included on this list including a few programs with multiple selections. But Georgia was the only team in the country to have four defenders named to this watch list.

Georgia has a lot of inexperience and new faces that will be running the show on the offensive side of the ball. This most notably is the case at quarterback whether Gunner Stockton or Ryan Puglisi is named the starter. So the formula for Georgia this season will be relying on their dominant defense to help lead them to victory, because at this point in the offseason it’s had imagining the offense being able to regularly score a lot of points.

But according to this watch list, Georgia has the firepower on defense to lead UGA to a lot of wins this fall despite playing one of the most difficult schedules in the country.
