Georgia fans erupt after being left off top home-field advantage list

College football is the best sport in the world for many reasons, but the atmosphere home fans create is one of the biggest reasons by far. The atmosphere fans create is why many football fans think the college game is more enjoyable to watch compared to the NFL.

But which team in the SEC has the best home atmosphere?

Creating a list of the best atmospheres in the SEC is a very difficult task, and it is impossible to create a list everyone will agree with. But the list created by Ryan Brown with The Next Round is about as bad as it gets.

Georgia snubbed from top 5 SEC home atmospheres

Georgia football is entering the 2025 season with the longest home winning streak in the country. Their home win streak currently sits at 32 straight wins which dates all the way back to 2019.

Now wins and losses shouldn't be the only criteria used when making this list, but it definitely needs to be factored in at some capacity. But Brown apparently disregarded Georgia's record breaking home win streak altogether, because they weren't even included in his top five.

In all honesty, Georgia probably doesn't have the No. 1 atmosphere in the SEC, but they undoubtedly should be in the top five.

Some of the teams included in Brown's top five above Georgia however do make sense. LSU's atmosphere is next level and Alabama and Tennessee have great atmospheres as well. But Auburn being No. 1 is borderline insane.

As mentioned, wins and losses should not be the only criteria used when making this list, but it has to matter at least a little. And looking at Auburn's recent history at home shows why they probably shouldn't even be in the top five. The Tigers are an abysmal 5-14 at home against power four opponents dating back to the 2021 season. Auburn also has an embarrassing 31-10 loss to New Mexico State at home as well during this timeframe. Surely that wouldn't happen to the team with the best atmosphere in the SEC, right?

Thankfully a list like this means absolutely nothing, because as long as Georgia keeps winning then who cares what anyone thinks about the atmosphere at Sanford Stadium.
