Kirby Smart went all out in his pursuit of five-star quarterback Jayden Wade, and he was rewarded for those efforts last year when Wade committed to Georgia. Wade is now in the midst of his first high school seasoon since committing to Georgia, and in the first game of his season he showed why it is such a big deal that he is committed to Georgia.
“Wade kicked off his junior season with a dominant 59-3 victory during which he was the driving force behind the standout offensive output,” Benjamin Wolk said via 247sports.com. “Wade completed 14-of-20 passes for 214 yards. He tossed two touchdown passes, including the strike to Alabama commit Osani Gayles shown below. Wade also found a touchdown with his legs, punching in a touchdown run on the ground too.”

Jayden Wade continues to prove why Kirby Smart was a genius for pursuing him early
Wade's performance during the first game of his season was impressive. Beating any team by 56 points will stand out, but doing so while completing 14 of 20 passes for 214 yards, two touchdowns and another rushing touchdown makes it even better.
Wade is a member of the 2028 recruiting class. That means when he committed to Georgia he was only a sophomore in high school, and when Kirby Smart began recruiting him he was much younger than that.
Wade himself has come out and said that Georgia started recruiting him much sooner than other programs. That choice from Smart made Wade's ultimate decision to commit to Georgia so early in his recruitment an easy one. He knew that Georgia was extremely motivated to land him, and after learning about Georgia he knew they were the right fit for him.
Georgia now has the difficult task of holding onto his commitment for the next 16 months. Wade won't be able to officially sign with Georgia until December of 2027, so they will likely have to fend off multiple flip attempts until then. So far they have been able to do that every time since he committed, but it's impossible to predict what will happen over the next year.
For now though Georgia has the commitment of the No. 1 quarterback in the country. He also seems as locked in with Georgia as ever before, and if he keeps playing at this high of a level then the excitement for his arrival in Athens will keep climbing until the moment he does.
