The walls have been closing in on Georgia in Jayden Wade’s recruitment over the past few months. The five-star quarterback has been committed to Georgia since November, but the last few months have seen multiple schools make a big push to steal him.
Multiple schools have hosted him on a visit and most of them felt confident that with time they could flip him. Those hopes however were destroyed as Wade himself has come out once again and re-affirmed his commitment to Georgia.

Kirby Smart and Georgia haven’t had the best of luck with five-star quarterbacks. Over the past few recruiting classes Georgia has lost Dylan Raiola to Nebraska and Jared Curtis to Vanderbilt just days before they were supposed to sign with Georgia, but now they’re hoping it will be different with Wade.
Wade has had to re-affirm his commitment to Georgia multiple times already. That’s just how it goes with the No. 1 quarterback in any recruiting class because no matter how many times they re-affirm their pledge other schools will continue to pursue him. That will continue to happen even after this announcement, but for now Georgia can be confident about where they stand with him.
So now that Georgia doesn’t have to worry about his commitment they can devote more of their attention to recruiting other players. Wade however is in a heated competition to hold onto his No. 1 ranking, and he may be on the verge of losing that soon.

247Sports just updated their rankings for the 2028 class on Wednesday. Wade held steady as the No. 2 overall player in the country and No. 1 quarterback, but Christopher Vargas made a big move up the rankings as he tries to catch him.
Vargas has been the only other quarterback close to Wade in the 247Sports rankings, and on Wednesday he moved up and is now the No. 4 overall player in the country. That is the closest he’s ever been to Wade, but at the end of the day it really isn’t that big of a deal.
Georgia would obviously prefer for Wade to stay at No. 1, but if he falls back it wouldn’t change anything. He is Georgia’s No. 1 choice at quarterback in the 2028 class. That will stay true whether he’s the No. 1 QB or the No. 15 QB, so no matter what happens Smart will still want him just as much.
Hopefully he’s able to hold onto his No. 1 ranking, but the only thing that actually matters is if Georgia can fend off every flip attempt for the next year.
