Five-star quarterback Jayden Wade is still committed to Georgia, but new reports indicate that his commitment might not be as firm as everyone originally thought. He has only been committed to Georgia for a few months, but until now he has not shown any signs of being interested in any other schools.
That however all changed this past week as reports shared that Tennessee and LSU are pursuing him and that he is listening to their pitch and planning future visits.
But even if these reports are true, Wade sent a clear message about how strong his commitment still is.
"I'm all the way locked in with Georgia,” Wade said via 247sports.com. "I might visit a couple other schools, but nothing has changed with Georgia. Nothing is changing with Georgia. I feel like if you want to go to Georgia, and you want to get developed early, and really get developed for the NFL, for the league, or where you want to get to, Georgia's the spot. If you want to compete. You're going to get better going there, for sure."
5-star Georgia commit sends a clear message to UGA
These clearly are great things for Georgia fans to hear Wade say, but does it mean all that much right now? Even if he is this high on Georgia he is still taking visits elsewhere, and as long as that is the case then he isn't 100 percent committed to UGA like everyone thought.
This however is just how recruitments go for players like Wade nowadays. He is the No. 1 player in the country, so even though he committed to Georgia schools were not going to give up. And unfortunately it is very normal for recruits to visit other schools while they are committed elsewhere.
It will be interesting to see how things play out over the next year and a half throughout his recruitment. Georgia was just burned by another five-star quarterback a few months ago, and the fear is that could happen again with Wade. And that fear will unfortunately exist until he (hopefully) signs with Georgia in December 2027.
