Georgia is ready to learn their fate when it comes to Seth Williams' recruitment. He is a four-star defensive back who is announcing his commitment on July 31, and joining Georgia as his only finalist is Clemson.
Georgia and Clemson have been the teams at the top of his recruitment throughout the entire summer. Other teams have tried to get involved, but Williams never even gave them the time of day. He knew he wanted to commit to Georgia or Clemson, and on Friday both teams will learn where he is going to play his college football.

Georgia and Clemson were the only schools that Williams officially visited this summer. After those visits he shared that he was going to announce his commitment on July 3, and that was terrible news for Georgia.
Clemson was the team being picked by experts win his recruitment, so with July 3 quickly approaching it felt like all hope was lost. Then Williams shocked both Georgia and Clemson by canceling his commitment date.
He never gave an explanation for why he delayed his commitment, but it was clear this was great news for Georgia. If he announced on July 3 Clemson was probably going to win, so this delay gave Kirby Smart a chance to make up some ground.
Fast forward a few weeks and Smart did make up some ground. Not only did Georgia catch up to Clemson but they passed them as they are the team with predictions in their favor to win his recruitment now.
Predictions don't always come true, so there is a chance that Clemson still comes out on top. But for now it looks like Georgia is going to get some great news from Williams which they desperately need.
A commitment from Seth Williams is exactly what Georgia needs
Williams is the exact recruit Georgia needs a commitment from right now. Their recruiting class overall is pretty solid, but they are ranked outside the top 10 because of their issues recruiting defensive backs.
Once upon a time they had two top 100 defensive backs committed to their recruiting class, but they both flipped and left Georgia with zero defensive back commits all summer. A few weeks ago Adryan Cole changed that when he chose Georgia over LSU, Florida and Ole Miss, but Smart needed more than one defensive back in his recruiting class.
This is where Williams hopefully comes in. He is a four-star recruit just like Cole, so he would immediately help Georgia's class fly up the rankings and fix the biggest issue that has plagued their recruiting class all summer.
Clemson is more than capable of winning this recruitment though. They already beat Georgia for a defensive back already this summer, but it thankfully looks like Georgia will get the last laugh and come out on top in Williams' recruitment.
Williams is expected to announce his final decision at 6:00 pm EST on Friday, July 31 live with 247Sports.
