Preston Glasco is a name that Georgia fans need to learn. He is only a three-star defensive back who is committed to UConn, but Kirby Smart is on the prowl looking to flip him to Georgia.
Georgia has been in contact with Glasco since he committed to UConn. The vibe surrounding his recruitment have been positive for Georgia, but he reportedly is continuing to grow even closer to Georgia as Smart and his staff ramp up their efforts to flip him.
Preston Glasco is feeling the heat from Kirby Smart, Georgia
Glasco is barely ranked inside the top 900 players in the country. That hardly is a ranking worth getting excited over, but at Georgia it doesn't really matter. No one is better at identifying and developing talent than Smart, so if he goes after a recruit it doesn't matter where they are ranked.
Glasco has made it clear over the last few weeks that he wants to flip to Georgia. Normally that would mean his recruitment is a done deal, but that is where things get interesting. Smart and Georgia want to see how he plays in his first couple games of his high school season to make sure that he is a good fit, and if he performs well then they will be ready to make his flip official.
At this point it's unclear if he will do enough to impress Georgia, and there's always a chance he changes his mind and decides against Georgia too. But as long as he plays well at the start of his season then he should be a Bulldog in no time.
Georgia's defensive back class is finally coming together with a big announcement expected on July 31
Georgia's defensive back class has been holding their recruiting class back. The Bulldogs class is ranked outside the top 10 mainly because Georgia only has one defensive back committed right now.
Glasco could be someone who eventually adds to that total, but Geogia is hoping to earn a commitment from four-star defensive back Seth Williams on July 31.
Williams will decide between Georgia and Clemson on Friday. He was once heavily leaning to Clemson, but he delayed his original commitment date to give Georgia a chance to change his mind. And heading into his commitment date it looks like they accomplished that because he has been predicted to choose Georgia.
So not only does it look like Georgia will win Williams' recruitment, but they have a great chance to land Glasco as well. Those two commitment would go a long way in helping Georgia fix their recruiting class and climb back into the top 10 in the recruiting rankings where they belong.
