Even though Georgia has been one of the best programs in the country over the past few years, UGA fans have not always been fully satisfied with some of the members of the Bulldogs coaching staff. Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo received a bulk of the blame last season, but he has since proven how great of a coach he is this year.

So now that fans have become very happy with Bobo, they have turned their attention on Defensive Coordinator Glenn Schumann. Georgia fans have grown increasingly upset with Schumann throughout this year to the point where some of begun begging that he be fired.

And while Georgia's defense hasn't been as great as normal this year, Schumann is beginning to prove like Bobo did that he deserves to remain on UGA's staff.

As mentioned, Georgia's defense has not lived up to the standard held in Athens this season. And while fans are rightfully upset by that, it hasn't been as bad as they are claiming.

Georgia's most recent victory over Mississippi State is the perfect example of how much better this unit is looking. They did unfortunately give up an opening drive touchdown, but after that they held Mississippi State scoreless throughout Georgia's 38-0 run. Mississippi State did go on to score two late touchdowns, but that was long after the outcome of the game had already been determined.

Georgia's defense however did struggle a lot against teams like Tennessee, Alabama and Ole Miss. But they also had moments of brilliance during those games as well like when they held the Crimson Tide scoreless in the second half.

So while Schumann and Georgia's defense have a lot of work to do to improve even more this season, they have not been bad enough (especially recently) to the point where Schumann should be fired.
