Auburn is in an interesting spot as a program, and it is far from any place any team wants to be. The Tigers haven't had a 10-win season since 2017, and this year will follow that trend as Auburn is a miserable 3-4 so far this season.
This poor start to the season has Auburn fans wondering if it is time to fire Hugh Freeze because he is proving every week that he isn't capable of taking the Tigers to the heights that is expected of their program. At the end of the day it may not really matter to Georgia if Auburn fires Freeze or not, but the opportunity to steal a few of their better players should cause UGA fans to hope that Auburn does move on from Freeze.

Georgia fans should pray that Auburn fires Hugh Freeze
Brooks Austin with Georgia Bulldogs on SI made a pitch to Georgia fans that they should hope Freeze gets fired. Freeze clearly isn't a threat to Georgia on the field, but UGA could steal a lot of Auburn's extremely talented and young defensive players out of the Transfer Portal if he is fired.
Auburn's defense has been very good this season, they even did an excellent job against Georgia earlier this season by holding them to just 20 points. So while UGA may not be interested in their players on offense, Georgia most definitely could use some of their defensive stars.
Two players Georgia could benefit from stealing include sophomore linebacker Xavier Atkins who leads the team with five sacks and sophomore safety Kaleb Harris who is third on the team with 28 tackles. Even someone like freshman linebacker Elijah Melendez who has one sack and 19 tackles in limited playing time could thrive at Georgia as well.
Freeze obviously needs to be fired before a large number of Auburn's players will enter the portal, and if he is fired there isn't a guarantee that any one player will enter the portal. But Freeze being fired increases the chances that a lot of really good players will enter the portal, and that is something every Georgia fan should be hoping for.
Georgia did their part earlier this season in helping Freeze get fired, but only time will tell if it actually happens or not.
