The college football seaosn might still be more than seven months away, but that isn't stopping anyone from making their predictions for next season. And the one prediction everyone wants to make right now is what the 2026 College Football Playoff bracket will look like.

Georgia football fans just assume at this point that they will make the CFP, and that is what occurred when ESPN released their prediction for next year's College Football Playoff bracket. But not only did UGA make the playoff, ESPN had the Bulldogs as the No. 1 overall seed and making a run to the National Championship game where they ended up losing to Penn State.

That outcome would be a very unfortunate ending, but it would still be a great season for Georgia nonetheless.

Fast forward to Monday and On3 released their 2026 College Football Playoff prediction, and Georgia fans will not like what they see.

Georgia falls to Texas in Quarterfinal

While it will always be nice if Georgia earns the first round bye that would come with winning an SEC Championship, On3 unfortunately does not predict that will happen. In fact, they have Texas winning the SEC and earning the overall No. 1 seed next year.

Georgia however is still comfortably in the 12-team field as the 8-seed, which means they get to host a first round game in Athens. Their opponent would be Illinois, and On3 predicts a win for Georgia against the Illini, but that is where the good news ends for Georgia.

Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs would then play Texas in the quarterfinals where On3 predicts a loss for Georgia. And to make matters even worse, On3 has the Longhorns going on to win the Naitonal Championship.

Hopefully this isn't what actually occurs, because losing to Texas then watching them win it all would be tough to overcome. But if Georgia fans know anything about UGA during Smart's tenure, they will not be going anywhere and will have a great chance to win the National Championship again this year.
