Georgia football fans are on high alert when it comes to UGA commits flipping to other schools. This is always a concern on the recruiting trail every year, but fans will especially be on edge after Georgia lost one of their top commits this last weekend.

Unfortunately for Georgia, another one of their commits has had a wandering eye recently, and that is four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford.

Spafford is the No. 62 overall player in the country as well as the No. 9 wide receiver in the 2026 class. Those rankings alone make it obvious why other teams would be interested in trying to flip him from Georgia. But it’s the fact that he’s a top 10 player from California that has peaked the interest of schools out west the most.

But it appears those concerns of Spafford flipping may not be as high as once thought.

Vance Spafford to visit for G-Day

USC and UCLA have both been aggressively pursuing Spafford in recent weeks, and it’s hard to blame them considering he is from California and an extremely talented player. Spafford appeared to at least be listening to their pitches because he has taken some visits to these schools, but so far no word has come out yet that he is seriously considering flipping

The fact that he will be at Georgia for G-Day this weekend is also a great sign for the Bulldogs when it comes to his loyalty to Georgia.

Obviously things can change like they always seem to do nowadays, but as it stands today Spafford feels like a recruit who is locked in with Kirby Smart and Georgia. And hopefully it stays that way, because the potential he possesses is off the charts.

Spafford won’t be the only big name visitor heading to Athens this weekend, so stay tuned as it’s likely that many more big names will announce that they’re heading to Georgia soon.
