All of the off the field talk surrounding Georgia football right now involves Jared Curtis. The Bulldogs five-star quarterback commit appears to be on the verge of flipping his commitment from UGA to Vanderbilt, and it may be too late for Georgia to do anything about it.
But Curtis apparently isn't the only recruit that Georgia needs to be worrying about right now. Four-star EDGE PJ Dean has been committed to Georgia since the end of June, but he reportedly was at South Carolina visiting the Gamecocks on Saturday for their rivalry matchup against Clemson.

Georgia receives bad news from 4-star EDGE PJ Dean
Dean is one of Georgia's top commits in their 2026 recruiting class. According to the 247Sports composite rankings he is the No. 98 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 11 EDGE in the 2026 class and the No. 6 overall player from his home state of North Carolina as well.
South Carolina was one of three schools Dean officially visited this summer during his recruitment. He also took a visit to Georgia as well as Ohio State as well. But he decided after his visit to Georgia that Athens is the place he wanted to play his college football.
Since committing to Georgia he has not shown any signs of wavering off his commitment. But that apparently is no longer the case as he is giving South Carolina a serious look right now.
Who knows why someone would rather play at South Carolina than Georgia. They are nowhere near the level of program that Georgia is both as a team and from a player development standpoint. But the Gamecocks are giving Georgia all they can handle in this recruitment, and Kirby Smart and his staff are going to have to do everything they can to keep him in the fold.
