The spring transfer portal window is taking over the college football world, and Georgia football has been working extremely hard the past few days. Kirby Smart have been in contact with multiple players so far and has even brought some in on visits, but as the calendar hit Sunday Georgia was yet to earn a commitment.
That however changed in a big way late Sunday night.

Georgia lands 3 coveted transfers at once
It will always be a cause for celebration anytime Georgia lands a new commitment. But there are some rare days where Georgia will add two players at the same time which makes for one of the best days imaginable. One thing however that never happens is earning three commitments on the same day.
But is exactly what happened Sunday as Georgia added three elite transfers from the transfer portal. However, not only did UGA add three transfers, On3 reported that Georgia earned a commitment from all three players at the same exact time.
These players are Illinois running back Josh McCray, Army EDGE Elo Modozie and Miami (FL) defensive lineman Joshua Horton.
As mentioned, earning a commitment from any player will always be a big deal, but these three arenât just any players, they are all ranked very high in the transfer portal. To put into persepctive just how good they are, Modozie was regarded as the top available transfer in the entire portal and both McCray and Horton were thought of as one of the top transfers at their position.
The best part of all of this is that all three players will receive significant playing time while filling obvious holes in Georgiaâs roster. EDGE and the defensive line were the biggest positions of need, and Branson Robinsonâs departure made running back an important spot as well. So in one quick motion, Georgia added three impact players at positions they had to fill in the portal.
So if anyone doubted what Smart can do on the recruiting trail, they no longer should because this is the biggest win for any school in the transfer portal so far this spring.
