Georgia football has been recruiting their fair share of targets so far in the transfer portal this season. Unfortunately for Kirby Smart and UGA they have not yet been able to earn a commitment from the portal yet.
But that isn't the end of the world because one of Georgia's top targets they are after has not announced their commitment yet, and that is USC wide receiver Zachariah Branch.
Branch spent the last two seasons with the Trojans where he immediately became one of the most electric players in the country. So much so that 247Sports has Branch as the No. 2 wide receiver in the portal and No. 4 overall player.
Branch and his brother Zion Branch both visited Georgia about a week and a half ago before also visiting Arizona State. Up to this point those are the only two teams that have hosted the brothers and been publicly linked with them. But that all changed on Monday when a new SEC team was linked with the elite duo.
Tennessee is "all in" on Zachariah Branch
According to Pete Nakos with On3, the Tennessee Volunteers are the latest team to join the sweepstakes for the Branch brothers, who have stated they are a package deal.
It is important to note that Tennessee has not scheduled a visit with the brothers yet, but On3 is reporting that they are going to do everything they can to get the duo on campus for a visit. And if that happens, then Tennessee will be a huge threat in this recruitment.
Tennessee is a program that has made it clear that they are big NIL spenders. Combining that with the fact that they have an elite QB in Nico Iamaleava that Branch would get to play with, it's very clear that the Vols would be a serious threat to win this battle.
The brothers have not stated when they plan to announce their commitment, and because of that there likely is a good chance that they will end up visiting Tennessee. But regardless of if that happens or not, this is a recruitment Georgia has to win as it would help solve one of the biggest problems with Georgia's team this season.
