Georgia football is moving quickly with one of the top transfers in the country. A few days ago, brothers Zachariah Branch and Zion Branch announced that they were entering the transfer portal and leaving USC, and this news became the biggest talking about in college football transfer portal news.

Both brothers are elite transfer prospects, but it's Zachariah who everyone is talking about as he is the No. 3 overall player in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings. He also is arguably the most electric player in the country, so he immediately became the most sought after recruit in the portal.

And while many programs across the country will be interested in the Branch brothers who have stated they are a package deal, it is Georgia who has an early lead in this recruitment.

Branch brothers visiting Georgia on Friday

On Thursday it was reported that the Branch brothers were expected to visit Georgia at some point, but there was not an official date for that visit released publicly. However, that changed in a hurry as it turns out that both brothers are visiting Georgia on Friday, Dec. 20, according to Matt Zenitz with 247Sports.

This is the biggest news of the entire transfer portal season potentially in the country, because the Branch brothers are the most sought after recruits in the portal. So Georgia not only is the first team to host the brothers on a visit, but there are also no other visits currently scheduled with the duo.

That doesn't mean that more visits won't get scheduled in the future, but this tells us that Georgia is the school at the top of their list currently. It's also worth mentioning that Zenitz listed Arizona State as another team to watch with the Branch brothers, but nothing has been publicly scheduled with the Sun Devils yet.

In a perfect world Kirby Smart will be able to convince the brothers to commit to Georgia on this visit. That may be unlikely to happen, but there is always a chance that it does occur. But at the end of the day, hopefully this visit goes extremely well and Georgia continues to be a major player in their recruitment going forward.
