Georgia football and Kirby Smart are finally beginning to make the moves in the transfer portal that Georgia fans have been waiting for them to make. It's not that Smart and his staff weren't being aggressive recruiting players in the portal, they just were not finding much success yet.

That however all appears to be changing as Georgia received multiple predictions on Thursday to land a top 10 player in the portal. But those weren't the only fireworks in the transfer portal for Georgia on Thursday, because Matt Zenitz with 247Sports reported that Georgia is expected to host one of the top receivers in the country on a visit.

USC transfers Zachariah and Zion Branch

According to the above post from Zenitz, Georgia is expected to host the No. 3 overall player and No. 2 wide receiver in the portal Zachariah Branch on a visit soon.

Branch is coming off his second season at USC where he recorded 47 receptions for 503 yards and a touchdown. He is also electric on special teams as well, and even returned a kick for touchdown this season too. Branch is considered to be the most electric and fastest player in the portal, so it's very clear why this news is massive for Georgia.

Branch also has a brother at USC, Zion Branch, who entered the portal as well. He is a talented player as well and is the No. 12 safety in the portal according to 247Sports after recording 19 tackles, one sack and three pass deflections this year.

The Branch brothers are a package deal as they have already stated that they will be transferring to the same school, so both brothers will be taking this visit to Georgia in the future.

It is important to note that no visit has officially been scheduled yet, it is just being reported that Georgia is expected to host the Branch brothers in the future. So while that may be a little concerning that a visit isn't even on the books yet, this is still big news for a few reasons.

The first is that they entered the portal with a Do Not Contact tag on them, meaning that no school could initiate contact with them in the portal. So it appears the Branch brothers have a lot of interest in Georgia, because they would have had to reach out to Georgia first. On top of that, UGA is the first school reported to be expecting a visit from the brothers, so that could be an indication that the Bulldogs are at their top of their list.

Hopefully Smart is able to get an official date on the books soon, then he will really be able to begin working his magic and try to earn a commitment from the Branch brothers.
