Georgia football fans have not been the biggest fans of Mike Bobo during the last two seasons. Their displeasure with Bobo has grown so much that there have been countless moments were fans have pleaded with Kirby Smart to fire him.
But Smart stuck true to Bobo who he believed in more than anyone else, and that loyalty is working out for Georgia so far this season. And after Bobo’s best game as Georgia’s offensive coordinator against Ole Miss on Saturday, it’s time for Georgia fans to offer an apology to Bobo for ever wanting him to be fired.
Mike Bobo continues to prove Georgia fans wrong
Georgia fans displeasure for Bobo reached an all time high at the end of last season after the Bulldogs lost to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff. UGA fans then spent all offseason wondering why Bobo hasn’t been let go, especially after word came out that Smart extended his contract.
But what has Bobo done in the wake of all of this negativity? He has been infinitely better this year compared to last season, and Georgia’s win over Ole Miss is the perfect example of how much he has improved.
Georgia’s offense was perfect against the Rebels on Saturday. Yes, perfect is the correct word to use because the Bulldogs scored every time they touched the ball. Bobo used a perfect combination of run schemes and pass plays with some trick plays sprinkled in there as well that kept the Ole Miss defense on their heels all night.
While much of the attention after last night will be on Gunner Stockton’s heroics and Lawson Luckie’s three touchdown performance, it is Bobo who arguably deserves the most praise. And while Georgia fans are praising him they better make sure to offer an apology as well.
