Georgia football flip candidate is trending away for UGA

A Florida State DL commit appears to be trending to Georgia, but now that appears to be changing.

The rest of the 2025 recruiting cycle is shaping up to be a massive success for Georgia football. They already have a top five class in the country, and by the sounds of it that could be improving very soon.

Kirby Smart and his staff may be on the verge of landing the top defensive lineman in the country later this week. There are also some recruits who are flip candidates as well for the Bulldogs. But one recruit who I thought was trending towards Georgia is reportedly trending to a new school.

Kevn Wynn is a four-star defensive lineman from Greensboro, GA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Wynn is the No. 156 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 21 DL in the country as well as the 20th ranked player from Georgia.

Wynn has been committed to Florida State since the end of June, but it had been reported that he was having interest in other programs. In fact, Wynn himself said Georgia was a potential landing spot for him just last week. That however doesn't appear to be the case anymore as Josh Newberg of On3 is reporting that USC is the team to beat.

This wouldn’t be the biggest loss in the world for Georgia if Wynn does end up committing elsewhere, but it is one that will be tough to see. Wynn is a very talented player, and UGA is likely going to add five or six defensive lineman in this class, so Wynn was a prime candidate to be one of those players. Also, the fact that he’s from Georgia makes a potential loss sting that much more.

However, this by no means is a loss that we should panic about. Georgia’s recruiting class is still strong and like I mentioned that are trending for other lineman who are ranked higher. So let’s hope Smart and his staff can close on those other recruits so this potential loss doesn’t end up mattering all that much.
