Georgia football and Kirby Smart have been making a lot of moves on the recruiting trail recently. Unfortunately these moves have not ended in any commitments for UGA, but Georgia is in a great position with many of their top targets in the 2026 recruiting class.
This includes four-star wide receiver Gordon Sellars, who just gave the Bulldogs a few pieces of good news.
4-star WR Gordon Sellars
Sellars is one of the top recruits in the country according to On3. According to their Industry Rankings, Sellars is the No. 337 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 49 wide receiver in the 2026 class and No. 17 player from his home state of North Carolina.
Sellars recently announced his top five schools, and Georgia made the cut along with Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Clemson. However, Sellars took it one step further as he scheduled three official visits for later this summer which might indicate who his top three schools are. And this is good news for Georgia because they are one of those three schools.
This is also really good news for Georgia because the only wide receiver currently committed to UGA in the 2026 class, Vance Spafford, is beginning to get a wandering eye and is looking at other programs now. So Sellars would be a great option if Spafford did decommit from the program.
Regardless of what Spafford does, Sellars is a very important recruit for Georgia. Smart and his staff likely want more than one receiver in their 2026 recruiting class anyways, so Sellars would be a great option to add. So hopefully his official visit later this summer goes well so Smart can convince him to come down to Georgia and ditch the more local schools heβs interested in.
