Georgia football had a lot of issues this past season that caused UGA to lose two regular season games and fall short in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff. But the biggest issue that every Georgia fan was the most upset about is the issues on offense.

Whether it be players not performing to the level fans thought they were capable of or the coaching staff not having the team ready to play, Georgia fans were not happy with the performance from the offense this season.

In wake of these issues, many Georgia fans put most of the blame on Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo. Many thought he did not have the offense prepared for many of their games and that his play calling was horrific at times as well. Georgia fans were so upset with Bobo that many wanted him fired after Georgia lost to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. But instead of being fired, there were recent rumors that Bobo might retire on his own accord.

But according to Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi, Bobo does not plan on stepping down at Georgia this offseason.

Mike Bobo will return in 2025

While this report confirms that Bobo will not be retiring this offseason, it doesn’t say anything about Kirby Smart potentially letting him go. But it’s extremely unlikely that will happen right now.

For starters, Bobo and Smart have a long relationship with one another, so that is a difficult thing to just move on from. Also is the fact that Georgia just won an SEC Championship this past season. Sure the Bulldogs still fell short of their goals, but winning an SEC title is a major feat that Bobo played a big role in.

Lastly, Bobo’s son Drew will still be on the team next season. So that would create a very awkward situation if Smart were to fire Bobo.

Regardless of if fans want Bobo back or not, it’s looking like he will be. So it’s time to put any negative feelings towards him to the side and get fully behind him for next season, because negativity will not help anything at this point.
