Georgia football is trending for 4-star Florida State WR decommit
Georgia football is once again closing in on signing one of the top recruiting classes in the country. After the recent commitment from linebacker AJ Kruah (who was previously committed to North Carolina) the Bulldogs found themselves with the No. 3 recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports.
With about on emonth until the early signing period begins, there is still plenty of time for Kirby Smart to make some big moves to once again propel Georgia to the top recruiting class in the country. And it appears that Georgia is trending in the right direction for one of the top wide receivers in the country.
Wide Receiver CJ Wiley
CJ Wiley is a four-star wide receiver who according to the 247Sports composite ranking is the No. 84 overall player in the country. Wiley also is the No. 13 receiver in the country and No. 11 player from Georgia.
Wiley was previously committed to Florida State until he decommitted from the Seminoles on Oct. 27, which flung the door wide open for Georgia to get involved once again.
According to Jed May with Rivals, Georgia is one of the top schools in Wiley's recruitment. Texas A&M, Colorado, LSU and Auburn are also receiving a lot of interest from Wiley as well.
It is unclear exactly where Georgia stands at this time in Wiley's recruitment, but they were once thought to be the leader. Back in June, Georgia actually received three crystal balls on 247Sports to win Wiley's original recruitment. Unfortuantely, that didn't end up happening after he committed to the Seminoles later that onth. But these crystal balls tell us that Georgia was a major player back in the summer, so there is a great chance UGA could be at the top Wiley's list now.
On top of that, Georgia (along with Texas A&M) is one of two schools listed as "warm" on Wiley's 247Sports profile.
We likely will hear more news about this recruitment soon as the 2025 recruiting cycle is winding down. But as it stands today, Georgia is in a great spot to land yet another top 100 player in the 2025 class.
