One of the most important positions for Georgia football to recruit extremely well is offensive tackle. This position is arguably the most important in order for Georgia football to be able to compete for SEC and National Championships.
Georgia over the years has always been very strong at offensive tackle as Kirby Smart knows how important excelling at this position is. Thankfully Smart and his staff are showing they understand this importance as they are prioritizing many of the highest ranked offensive tackles in the 2026 class. And one of those recruits just so happened to give Georgia some great news this past week.
Five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho recently announced his top 11 schools which included Georgia, but On3 reported that UGA is actually in Iheanacho's top five because they are one of five schools he will be officially visiting this summer. Penn State, Oregon, Alabama and Maryland will also host Iheanacho as well.

5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Iheanacho is the No. 3 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2026 class and the top ranked player from him home state of Maryland.
Georgia being one of five schools to host Iheanacho on an official visit later this summer is a big deal because it shows that Iheanacho is serious about potentially committed to the Bulldogs. However, there is some bad news because he has recently shared that Oregon is his top school over everyone else right now.
The good news is that Georgia will have a chance to change Iheanacho's mind later this summer when he eventually visits Athens. A date for this visit has not been officially announced yet, but when it does that weekend will immediately become the most important recruiting weekend of the summer.
