Things have really been heating up for Georgia football on the recruiting trail recently. The Bulldogs just earned their fifth commitment in the 2026 class, and they are also becoming the leaders in recruitments for players all across the country.
Kirby Smart and his staff are also prioritizing recruits from Georgia as well, and that includes a safety who was just in town this past weekend.
4-star Safety Jordan Smith
Jordan Smith is a four-star safety from Warner Robins, GA. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 58 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 6 safety in his class as well as the No. 5 player from Georgia.
This clearly is a recruitment that Smart and his staff will piroritize, and the latest example of that was seen when Smith visiting campus this past weekend for Georgia's second Junior Day of the year. This visit was the fourth time he has been to Athens, so it's clear he is very high on Georgia as well.
Smith spoke with 247Sports about this most recent visit, and it sounds like it went extremely well.
"It was a lot more 1-on-1 time, really," Smith shared via 247sports.com. "Because when they're having a game, it kind of took away from that. Even the spring, there was coaching practice and all that. But this one, it was a lot more connecting, like getting to know everybody, Donte, T-Rob, Kirby."
Why is Georgia trending for Smith?
No official predictions have been made in Smith's recruitment yet, but it does still appear that Georgia is trending for Smith. Sure the Bulldogs will always have a good chance in any recruitment they prioritize when the player is from Georgia, but there is another reason why Georgia could have a massive lead in Smith's recruitment.
Smith so far has only scheduled one official visit, and according to 247Sports that is to Georgia. Sure there is a chance that he will schedule more visits in the coming months, but right now Georgia is the only school he will ofificially visit later this summer.
However, regardless of if he visits other schools or not, Georgia has to love their chances with Smith. And considering how highly ranked of a prospect he is, winning this recruitment would be a big deal for Georgia's 2026 recruiting class.
