The transfer portal has officially opened in college football, and that means hundreds of players from around the country will announce their intentions of finding a new home this offseason. And while Georgia football is one of the top programs in the country, they are not immune to losing players.
So far two Bulldogs have decided to enter the portal, including senior wide receiver Michael Jackson. Now a fellow wide receiver has decided that he too will be entering the portal as well.
Freshman wide receiver Nitro Tuggle
Freshman wide receiver Nitro Tuggle is the latest Bulldog to announce that they will be entering the transfer portal.
Tuggle was a four-star prospect out of Indiana in the class of 2024, who spent his one and only college season at Georgia. While he was one of highest ranked recruits in last year's class, Tuggle failed to make his mark on the field this year for Georgia. Tuggle appeared in six games this season, but he only recorded three receptions for 34 yards.
This is a big loss for Georgia however because the future was bright for Tuggle. His lack of production this season wasn't due to a lack of talent, but rather a lack of opportunity as he was buried in the depth chart like a lot of freshman are. But Tuggle surely will be ready to make a big impact at whatever school he ends up landing at.
While this is a big loss for Georgia, it is not one that is the end of the world. Kirby Smart and Georgia signed five wide receivers in the 2025 class, which includes five-star Talyn Taylor. So even though UGA has lost two receives to the portal already, they have a good supply of talent already coming in to take their place.
Tuggle will not be the last Georgia player to enter the portal, and while it is always tough to see players leave, it is just a matter of time until Georgia is linked to some elite players themselves.
