Georgia football could really use some good news on the recruiting trail. The Bulldogs just lost one of their top commits to Miami (FL) this past weekend, which shot UGA down the recruiting rankings all the way to No. 26.

That is not good enough in Athens, but with so much time left in this cycle it isn’t time to panic yet.

But there’s no denying that Georgia could use a spark on the trail right now, and that spark could come from the quarterback position. QB recruits have been all the talk in Athens in recent weeks as a big decision looms for the top quarterback in the country, but another QB target for Georgia appears to be trending elsewhere.

4-star QB Landon Duckworth

Landon Duckworth is a four-star quarterback from Jackson, AL. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 47 overall player in the 2026 class. He also is the No. 6 QB in the country and the No. 3 player from Alabama as well.

Duckworth previously had named Georgia as one of his top schools and even had plans to visit Athens for an official visit this summer. The Bulldogs even seemed very high on Duckworth as well. But none of that matters as On3’s Steven Wiltfong just predicted Duckworth to Ole Miss.

This however isn’t a big loss for Georgia because Duckworth was their third option at QB in the 2026 class. Five-star Jared Curtis is the Bulldogs’ top choice, and if things don’t work out there then Georgia will pivot to Bowe Bentley who is a top five QB as well.

So while missing on a recruit as talented as Duckworth is never fun, this wouldn’t be that bad of a loss considering Georgia’s top two targets at QB. But hopefully Georgia is able to land one of those two players, because missing on all three of these quarterbacks would mean it’s time to panic.
