After yet another incredible regular season leading things for Georgia, Kirby Smart is now ready to shift his focus to the SEC Championship Game. However, there's always going to be some attrition at this time of the year and the Dawgs have lost their first player who intends to leave town.
Georgia can do more than win an SEC Championship against Alabama
Once the transfer portal opens up, defensive back Daniel Harris is going to officially enter and look for a new place to call home. That breaking news arrived on Sunday via On3's Hayes Fawcett. With Harris a bit buried on the depth chart, plenty of Georgia fans had a feeling this was coming:

Veteran Georgia CB Daniel Harris is planning to enter the transfer portal
Despite appearing in more than 20 games for the Bulldogs throughout his career, Harris has barely been seen making plays on defense for UGA this campaign. In his limited action, he posted seven total tackles.
Of note, the last time he registered a tackle was in the thrilling Week 3 win over Tennessee. Since then, he hasn't made any noise with Georgia. The timing of his announcement has thrown some people off, as Smart and Co. are fully focused on taking down Alabama next weekend.
Georgia is fresh off a win in Atlanta against Georgia Tech. Following the SEC title game, win or lose, the attention will then shift to the College Football Playoff. Georgia and Gunner Stockton have had a terrific season, but the push for the natty is about to begin.
Harris of course won't be part of those plans, as he has decided that he wants to close out his career elsewhere. Wherever he does land, Harris will have one more season of eligibility remaining. A member of the 2023 class, the Miami product signed with Georgia as a 4-star prospect and the No. 19 CB in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. He moved to Athens with plenty of hype surrounding his name, but he never quite lived up to it while suiting up for Georgia.
