Georgia football is after a lot of top talent in the 2026 recruiting class. And while every position obviously is extremely important to recruit, one position Kirby Smart and his staff have made a big emphasis with recently is linebacker.

One linebacker Georgia is after is five-star Tyler Atkinson who is the No. 1 linebacker in the country and will be visiting Athens this weekend. But there is another target at linebacker Georgia is recruiting hard who just announced his top five schools, and this is a name Georgia fans are going to want to remember.

4-star linebacker Izayia Williams

Izayia Williams is a four-star linebacker from Leesburg, FL. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Williams is the No. 117 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class. He also is the No. 8 linebacker and the No. 18 player from Florida.

Williams recently released his top five, and according to Hayes Fawcett with On3 Georgia made the cut. Along with Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Penn State and Alabama made the cut in Williams’ top five as well.

This clearly will be a tough recruitment to win because two powerhouse programs from Williams’ home state are included in his top five. 247Sports has not named a leader in this recruitment yet, but On3 has. Unfortunately for Georgia it is not them, but is their rival Florida who has a 98.2 percent chance to win this recruitment according to On3.

Smart and his staff still have plenty of time to turn the tides in this recruitment, and that all starts with bringing Williams on a visit to Athens. There’s a good chance Williams will visit all five of his finalists throughout the summer, so hopefully Georgia knocks their visit out of the park so they can improve their chances to win this recruitment.
