The college football season is still far from over, but that hasn’t stopped news surrounding the transfer portal from beginning. The portal officially opens on Dec. 9, but countless players have already stated that they will be entering the portal on that date. This includes one Georgia football player in corner Julian Humphrey who started 10 games for UGA this season.
And while Humphrey certainly won’t be the last Bulldog to enter the portal this offseason, the more exciting news is when Kirby Smart and Georgia football go after star players to bring to UGA. And one of these players Georgia is rumored to be very interested in is a former five-star from an SEC school.

Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold
Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold will be one of the biggest names for Georgia fans to monitor in the transfer portal this offseason. Arnold has just wrapped up his second season at Oklahoma, where he finished the year completing 155 of his 246 passes for 1,421 yards, 12 touchdowns and only three interceptions. Arnold was also active as a runner, tallying 444 rushing yards and three more touchdowns.
Arnold is a former five-star QB out of high school in the 2023 class, where he was a top 10 player in the country and the No. 4 overall QB. So his stats this season and the obvious potential he has makes it no surprise to hear that Georgia has a lot of interest.
On top of Georgia, Pete Nakos with On3 reported that Auburn and Mississippi State are two other teams to watch out for in this recruitment as well.
Regardless, if Smart and Georgia aggressively pursue Arnold they should have a good chance to win this recruitment. And it would be wise for Georgia to bring him in with Carson Beck leaving Georgia after this season as the more competition UGA can have at QB this offseason the better.
A lot more information will come out after the portal officially opens, but for now it looks like Georgia is going to be extremely interested in bringing in a new quarterback this offseason.
