Georgia football has their final home game of the season today against Georgia Tech, and that means Kirby Smart has one more opportunity to bring recruits to Athens on a visit for a game this year. And while the Bulldogs have a lot of players lined up to visit for the big game, one five-star running back has changed his mind and will not be visiting Georgia anymore.

5-star RB Savion Hiter

Five-star running back Savion Hiter is one of the top players in the country in the 2026 class. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 14 overall player in the county. He is also the top ranked running back in his class and the No. 1 player from his home state of Virginia.

Hiter originally had plans to be at Georgia for their game against Georgia Tech, but Jeff Sentell with DawgNation has reported that this visit will no longer be occurring.

Obviously this isn't the best news in the world because Georgia would clearly love to get Hiter on campus as much as possible. But at the same time, this isn't the end of the world either.

For starters, Hiter is not taking a visit elsewhere instead of coming to Georgia, so it's not like he is choosing a different school over UGA. Hiter also was just in Athens last weekend when Georgia beat UMass, and according to Hiter himself he loved his time on this visit.

Lastly, Hiter is in the class of 2026, meaning his recruitment still has over a year to go. So even though he is not visiting for the Georgia Tech game, he clearly is a big fan of Georgia and likely will make many more visits as his recruitment progresses.

So hopefully Smart is able to do just that, because Hiter would be a huge piece to add to the Bulldogs' 2026 recruiting class.
