One of Georgia football’s commits is no longer acting like a commit. That recruit is four-star corner Justice Fitzpatrick who committed to UGA in the beginning of June.
Fast forward to August now and another report has surfaced that shows that Florida is the third and final team attempting to flip Fitzpatrick from Georgia.

Rival Florida is pushing to flip 4-star Georgia commit
Seemingly out of nowhere reports began to surface indicating that three teams were attempting to flip Fitzpatrick. Pretty quickly word came out that Texas and Miami (FL) were two of those teams, but the third team remained a mystery.
That however changed late Tuesday night when it was confirmed by the above report that Florida was the third and final team attempting to flip Fitzpatrick.
Losing a commit is bad no matter who steals them from Georgia, but losing someone to Florida would be as bad as it gets. Everyone knows how much Georgia and Florida do not like each other, so losing any recruit to as big of a rival as Florida would be difficult to overcome.
Florida also is a team that Georgia will continue to play every season as well. This means the Bulldogs would have to go up against a lockdown defensive back like Fitzpatrick every year, who is a top 50 player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Fitzpatrick does plan on taking more visits this fall, and one of those visits likely will be to Florida. Since he is planning on taking more visits it’s unlikely that Fitzpatrick will decommit from Georgia or flip to another school anytime soon, but at the end of the day that doesn’t really matter. Fitzpatrick is showing interest in other schools right now, and that essentially makes him no longer feel like a Georgia commit anymore.
