Georgia football is after a lot of intriguing targets in the 2026 recruiting class. However, none are more interesting to follow than the top ranked quarterback in the nation who just so happened to once be committed to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs already.
This recruit is still extremely high on Georgia, but he unfortunately is also interested in one of Georgia's biggest rivals as well.
5-star QB Jared Curtis
Jared Curtis is a five-star QB from Nashville, TN. According to On3's recruiting rankings, Curtis is the No. 4 overall player in the country. He also is the top ranked player from the state of Tennessee and the No. 1 QB in the 2026 recruiting class as well.
Curtis was committed to Georgia for much of 2024, but he unfortunately decommitted from the program towards the end of the year. Typically that means Georgia is no longer in the running for that recruit, but that is not the case with Curtis. In fact, Georgia made the top six for Curtis and were even one of the three schools to initially schedule an official visit with Curtis.
However, a fourth school has been added to the list of programs that will officially host Curtis later this summer, and according to Hayes Fawcett with On3 that is the Auburn Tigers. Auburn is actually getting the first crack at Curtis this summer, with Georgia batting third on June 13th.
It will be interesting to see how these visits go, becuase it is very likely that Curtis will announce his commitment soon after these visits are complete. And while it may seem somewhat unlikely for Curtis to commit to Georgia for a second time, the Bulldogs are in fact more than in the running and will have a great chance to win this battle once again.
