One of the most fun things to do before any Georgia football game is looking up their series history with their opponent. This gets a lot more exciting when the matchup is with a rival like Florida.

Everyone know these programs do not like each other. That is always seen with the discourse online between the teams and fans. But this year’s game got a little more personal after Florida’s official social media team took a shot at Georgia Friday afternoon.

But at the end of the day, no matter what is said leading up to this game, the two teams still have to line up on the football. And when that happens, things tend to go well for Georgia, especially recently.

Georgia holds a substantial lead over Florida

Georgia football holds a solid 56-44-2 lead in the all time series history against Florida. This includes riding a three game win streak after winning in 2021, 2022 and most recently in 2023.

The last time out, Georgia was able to come away with a dominant 43-20 win. In case you forgot about this game, the Gators jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but Georgia didn’t give them much time to celebrate. The Bulldogs immediately went on to score 36 unanswered points en route to their 23 point victory.

Carson Beck led the way with 315 pass yards and two touchdowns and running back Daijun Edwards ran for 95 yards and two scores.

In Kirby Smart’s tenure as head coach, Georgia holds a 6-2 advantage over Florida. Smart’s first win came in his second try against the Gators in 2017 when Georgia destroyed Florida 42-7.

Will Georgia be able to make it four wins in a row against Florida? All signs point towards that being the case. However, anything is possible in a rivalry game, so Georgia will have to be at their best if they want to keep their win streak intact over the Gators.
