Georgia Football series history vs. UMass
Georgia football is coming off one of their biggest wins of the season after knocking off Tennessee at home last week 31-17. Their reward for getting such a big win? UMass, a team that has only won two games this season and has just fired their head coach earlier this week.
Now while this game on paper (and according to Vegas) will be an easy win for UGA, it is important for Kirby Smart to keep his team fully focused. Georgia still has a lot of work to do if they are going to make the College Football Playoff, and in order to not only keep themselves in the 12-team field but also move up in the CFP rankings, Georgia needs to dominate UMass and win this game by a comfortable margin.
It remains to be seen of UGA is able to do that or not, but the series history between these two programs indicates that Georgia should have no issues in doing so.
Georgia is undefeated against UMass
To likely no one's surprise, Georgia is undefeated in their all time series history against UMass. However, Georgia and UMass have only played each other once in their history.
The Bulldogs beat UMass on Nov. 17, 2018 at Sanford Stadium by a final score of 66-27. That is a very solid margin of victory, but Georgia certainly does not want to give up that many points again this year.
Georgia played three quarterbacks in this game, with Jake Fromm having a solid showing where he completed all five of his passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. But it was a new QB that stole the show as Justin Fields completed five of his eight passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for another 100 yards and third touchdown as well.
Hopefully Georgia can repeat history and beat UMass by a large margin again while giving up significantly less points than 27 like they did in their first meeting.
