The updated College Football Playoff rankings are out and Georgia football has moved up to No. 10 after defeating Tennessee last weekend. This puts UGA comfortably in the 12-team CFP field with just two games remaining.

As of today, Georgia has the 11-seed in the CFP bracket, which on paper isn't the most ideal scenario in the world. But if there was a button Georgia fans could push to start the playoffs right now, likely every Georgia fan would press it immediately after seeing Georgia's matchups.

Georgia has a cakewalk to the semifinals

As mentioned, Georgia currently is the 11-seed in the College Football Playoff bracket. This would mean Georgia would hit the road for their first round game before moving on to play the 3-seed if they win. Let's see who these matchups would be for Georgia.

Georgia's first game of the playoffs would see them travel north to Penn State. This is about as easy of an opponent as Georgia could hope for as there is nothing threatening about Penn State. They've only played one good team so far this season (Ohio State), a game they lost at home. Other than that they have won every game, but they do not have a quality win to their resume.

Happy Valley is a tough place to play and Georgia might struggle a little with the elements, but this is a game Georgia would likely be double digit favorites in.

If Kirby Smart and Georgia win this game, they would move on to play 3-seed Miami (FL) at a neutral site. Again, this is another favorable matchup for Georgia because the Hurricanes do not have a good resume either. Similarly to Penn State, Miami does not have a quality win on their resume, but their one loss was not against a good team. Miami lost to Georgia Tech two weeks ago, and Georgia currently is a 20 point favorite over the Yellow Jackets. So that tells you how bad this loss is.

After that Georgia would potentially be matched up with Texas or Ole Miss in the semifinals, which is when things would get very difficult. But UGA's path to the semifinals would be very easy, and this is a path all Georgia fans should hope ends up happening when the bracket is official in three weeks.
