While many programs are learning of countless players that are deciding to leave their program and enter the transfer portal, Georgia football hasn't had many of their players make that decision yet. UGA hasn't been immune to these departures so far, but overall it has been very quite so far.
But the Bulldogs were told on Dec. 9 that freshman wide receiver Nitro Tuggle was entering the transfer portal. However, that decision did not last long as Tuggle announced on Tuesday, just one day later, that he has changed his mind and is staying at Georgia.
Freshman WR Nitro Tuggle isn't going anywhere
In the above post from Tuggle, he is seen posting "Now Lets Stop Asking" and finished off his post with the hashtag Go Dawgs. That obviously can only mean one thing, that he has decided to stay at Georgia.
This is massive news for KIrby Smart and Georgia because Tuggle's future is extremely bright. Out of high school he was a four-star recruit and the No. 123 overall player and No. 24 wide receiver in the country. So even though he has only recorded three receptions for 34 yards this season, it is clear that he will be a huge piece for future Georgia offenses.
On top of Tuggle's return, Georgia is also welcoming five wide receivers in their upcoming freshman class, including five-star Talyn Taylor. So the future of the Georgia wide receiver room is extremely bright.
There will still be plenty of Georgia players that opt to enter the portal, with the majority likely coming when UGA's season officially ends. But Smart and his staff have just proven that they can convince their players to stay at UGA, so it's important to remember that no matter who decides to test the transfer portal waters later this offseason, there is always a chance that Smart convinces them to come back.
