Georgia's SEC opener is finally here. The Bulldogs are heading north for their first conference game of the season against a hungry Tennessee team that is ready to beat UGA for the first time in almost a decade.

But according to Vegas, the Volunteers have some work to do if they are going to pull off this upset.

Georgia vs Tennessee Final Odds

As of Friday, Sep. 12 at 8:30 pm EST, Georgia is a 4.5 point favorite against Tennessee according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over-under for this game is set at 49.5 points as well.

ESPN on the other hand is siding with Tennessee as they give the Volunteers a 51.4 percent chance to win this game.

Georgia vs Tennessee Prediction

Georgia hasn't lost to Tennessee in their last eight meetings. And in those eight games, Georgia hasn't won by less than 14 points. So history says that Georgia will win this game and they should win it pretty easily.

But so far the 2025 season has painted a completely different picture.

Georgia so far this season hasn't looked as impressive as many fans expected. To be fair they did look great against Marshall week one, but only beating Austin Peay 28-6 won't strike fear into anyone.

Tennessee on the other hand has been dominant in both of their games so far this season. This includes a 19 point victory against Syracuse and a 72-17 win against East Tennessee State. The only good news for Georgia from these games is that Tennessee's defense gave up 21.5 points on average, so UGA's offense could find some success against the Volunteers.

Saturday's game could go either way, but even though Tennessee has looked like the better team so far this season it's hard to pick against Georgia. They have been too good against the Volunteers for too long to ever doubt them.

Georgia may not win by two touchdowns this season, but as long as they bring a victory home to Athens no UGA fan will be upset

Prediction: Georgia wins 24-20
