Georgia football and Notre Dame are set to do battle in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals at the Sugar Bowl. This game has all the makings of being the best game of the week, which is saying something considering all of the massive bowl games and CFP games all taking place within a few days.
Vegas also agrees that this is going to be a very close game as well, so before the game begins let's take one last look at the odds and see who Vegas thinks will come out on top.
Georgia vs. Notre Dame Final Odds
As of 9:00 pm EST on Tuesday Dec. 31, Georgia is a 1.5 point favorite over Notre Dame according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over-under is also set at 45.5 points for this game as well. ESPN's Football Power Index on the other hand actually favors Notre Dame in this game, giving the Irish a 53.9 percent chance of winning this game.
Georgia vs. Notre Dame Prediction
It is no secret that Georgia is going to have their hands full against this Notre Dame team. In all honesty, it is a little surprising to see the Bulldogs favored in this game because Georgia will be without their starting QB in Carson Beck. But Vegas always seems to know something when the majority of the country disagrees with them.
But can Georgia actually get it done on the field when it matters most? They have the talent all across the field to help make up for Beck's absence, and backup Gunner Stockton is more than good enough to hold his own and help lead Georgia to victory.
So give me the Bulldogs in a close, low scoring affair that sees Georgia advance to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff with a chance to make it back to the National Championship game.
Prediction: Georgia wins 17-14
